What Are Military Community Support Circles?
Rootline’s military community support circles are peer-led groups created to meet real needs across the Camp Humphreys community.
Each Circle is rooted in shared identity, culture, life stage, or purpose, and built to last. Whether you're active duty, a spouse, a DoD civilian, or part of a military-connected family, there’s a place for you here.
-
No dues.
-
No elections.
-
No drama.
Just people building the community they wish they had when they arrived.
Why Circles, not Spouse Clubs?
If you've ever joined a traditional spouse club and left feeling exhausted, excluded, or like you didn’t belong, you’re not alone.
Many of us have experienced the same cycle:
-
Leadership that changes every season
-
Popularity contests instead of purpose-driven service
-
Cliques that decide who matters and who doesn’t
-
Programs that disappear when one person PCS’s
-
Endless drama behind the scenes, but little impact in the community
-
Little to no financial accountability or reporting
Rootline’s military community support circles were created in direct response to that pattern.
We believe in:
Rootline Circles
Peer-led, not power-led
Purpose over politics
Ongoing mentorship
Protected from burnout
Welcoming to all
Structure that lasts
Traditional Social Groups
Titles often matter more than actions
Elections create tension and exclusivity
Leaders are often left to figure it out alone
Volunteers are overextended and unsupported
Often unspoken rules about who “fits in”
Most groups vanish when people move
Want to Start a Circle?
You don’t have to be an expert to lead. If you have a vision for connection, Rootline helps bring it to life.

-
A Circle Starter Kit (templates, expectations, branding assets)

Opportunities for recognition and impact funding
Whether it’s cultural, service-based, creative, or community-driven—your Circle matters.

Event and promotion support

Volunteer tools and leadership onboarding
-
Grant eligibility and resource access
-
Continuity when you PCS
We’re not here to take over. We’re here to help you keep going—with less burnout and more backup.
