Executive Assistant
The President carries the heaviest load, and her protected time is the organization's most valuable asset. The Executive Assistant exists to guard that time, absorb the friction of daily operations, and give the President the bandwidth she needs to build something that lasts.

Do I need to be a military spouse to volunteer?
No. Rootline is open to service members, spouses, DoD civilians, contractors, and retirees. If you have SOFA-sponsored installation access, you're welcome here.
What if I'm brand new to Humphreys?
Apply now and we'll time your onboarding to when you're settled in. Co-Lead and Root Guide are great fits for people earlier in their tour.
Will this count toward my VMIS volunteer hours?
Yes. All Rootline roles are VMIS-registered. We'll help you document everything correctly so your hours show up on record.
What if I have to PCS unexpectedly?
Every role is built with transitions in mind. You can pause, hand off gracefully, or wrap up — without guilt or penalty. That's just life here and we get it.
Do I need experience for any of these roles?
Not for most. We look for genuine intent and openness to being coached. Training is built into every onboarding — you won't be handed a clipboard and wished luck.
